Advantages and disadvantages of crawler excavators and wheeled excavators:

Wheeled excavators are easy to move, mainly for small projects in cities, and are mostly used by municipalities. They cannot work in very soft places. Wheeled excavators generally do simple work on cement floors and lawns, and generally do not damage the road surface. Crawler tracks are a tool for engineering and will damage the road surface. The main use of wheeled excavators is not as wide as that of crawler excavators. The use of wheeled excavators is affected by the environment and has certain limitations. They can only do a little work. Crawler excavators can basically adapt to any work and any environment.

Crawler excavators cannot travel on roads, but they can work in relatively muddy places without getting stuck. The machinery is also larger and more efficient than wheeled excavators. There are differences and connections between crawler hydraulic excavators.

    The relationship is:

    Crawler hydraulic excavators include backhoe crawler hydraulic excavators and front shovel crawler hydraulic excavators;

    Backhoe excavators include backhoe crawler hydraulic excavators and backhoe wheeled excavators.

      In engineering construction, the wheels of wheeled excavators are not needed, and there are special transport vehicles. If it is walking on the construction site, to be honest, I think crawler excavators are better.

      The advantages of crawler excavators are mainly concentrated in the chassis:

      Advantages: Because of the large ground contact area, it is better in muddy, wetland and other places that are easy to get stuck. Because the excavator itself has a large weight, it can go to a wider range of places. In addition, because the crawler is a metal product, it can also be competent in mines or places with harsh working conditions, and has strong off-road capabilities.

      Disadvantages: Relatively speaking, the investment is larger than that of wheeled excavators. In addition, the mobility is not good. The maximum design speed is only 5-7KM/H, and long-distance movement depends on flatbed trucks.

      Wheeled excavator: Advantages: small investment, fast speed, generally can reach 40-50KM/H.

      Disadvantages: narrow scope of use, mainly road administration or urban engineering, can not enter mines or muddy areas, poor climbing ability. Therefore, most excavator customers now choose crawler type.

      Each excavator and second hand excavator has different parameters and characteristics, and the specific scenarios and application scopes it is applicable to are also different. Each buyer can choose the corresponding excavator type according to their own situation.
